Theater |
The Theater is a playable map debuting from the spin-off title Project: Playtime. The room is showcased to be a large theater that is currently under construction, and the map is fairly large; with two large rooms, a basement, and many employee-only rooms. The theater's gate is visible in Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze (in the Main Lobby).
Appearance
Entrance
The Theater is a gloomy, yellow theater that appears to be abandoned, alongside under construction. When first entering the Theater, you are introduced with a small lobby-area with a fountain consisting of the familiar Poppy Playtime before going up a flight of stairs that introduces you to the entrance of the Theater.
The highlight of the Theater is the large Huggy Wuggy statue featured in the center of the entrance, seen in the yellow spotlight. A ticket booth with a large "WELCOME!" sign is depicted behind the statue, alongside a employee-only upstairs area that leads to the Projection Room, showcasing a large projection camera facing directly on the stage seen behind the entire entrance to the Theater.
Side Hallways
On each side of the Theater, there is a somewhat large hallway that both leads to the Stage or the Backstage. The left side consists of a stone Bron statue before a long hallway with small bits of minor construction seen. These construction sites can be used to slow any monster down, although there is a regular pathway that doesn't require crouching.
To the right, however, there is a small construction site that is seen at the entrance before coming to reveal a massive hole in the floor, allowing for yet another entrance into the Basement. This large hole is surrounded by multiple boxes, countless minor props, and a handle that can be used to grapple across the hole. The other side of the hole reveals a doorway and yet another staircase. The staircase leads to one of the two VIP watchtowers, while the doorway reveals an entrance into the Theater alongside the Backstage.
Upstairs
The upstairs of the Theater consists of many employee-only areas that are all connected to each other. Entrances to this area consist of two staircases seen to the bottom left and bottom right of the Theater's entrance alongside to each far side of the Backstage. The left hallways consist of a abandoned dressing room, with multiple merchandise hanged on rackets. To the right, however, reveals a laundry room, with washers and driers filling all walls.
Stage
The large stage is the highlight of this map, seemingly abandoned or in construction judging by all the debris and scaffolding seen spread out across the room. On the far middle of the room consists of the stage, which has a large chandelier glaring overtop it. A large cutout of Huggy Wuggy's head surrounded by fictional fire can be seen on the same. Around the room, specifically on the walls, multiple balconies can be seen with Kissy Missy golden statues hanging over them. Finally, in the center of the room, a large pile of colorful chairs can be depicted seen carelessly thrown on top of one-another.
The Backstage also shares this messy look, with many boxes, props, and even mascots scattered around the areas. Not much is too be said around the area, although mascots like Bunzo Bunny or Cat-Bee can be seen around the room in their respective toy counterparts.
Basement
The Basement is yet another small, yet major highlight within the Theater. Unlike the regular Theater however, the Basement glows a light cyan color, apposed to the familiar gloomy yellow lights. Within the Basement, multiple shelves filled to the brim with props, trophies, toys, etc. can be seen. The area is filled with mechanisms as well, with mechanisms connected can be scrutinized near the two Puzzle Pillars. In the middle of the room, a large dip can be seen that can also be passed by swinging over it with the GrabPack handle.
Puzzle Pillars
Strategy
Survivor
The Theater isn't favoring for Survivors. Nearly half of the Puzzle Pillars are out in the open, with additional Puzzle Pillar seen within closed walls, but not hidden from shortcuts or other entrances. Most areas are extremely open, and running from the Monster can get heated at times, with the only escape being to exit the area entirely and gain a large lead. However though, the map is filled with low ceilings, GrabPack handles, Crash Doors, and alternative entrances to major areas. Majority of monster shortcuts require a character that can grapple or leap towards that shortcut. Finally, there is a ton of Port-A-Lounges spread out across the area, and hiding in this map is extremely easy.
Monster
The Theater is a large, open map that movement-based characters like Mommy Long Legs or Boxy Boo can thrive in. Huggy Wuggy, however, may struggle in this map. With the large map and large, open areas, Monsters can easily spot their prey and initiate attack. Although there are plenty of counters spread across the map, if you stay persistent, you can catch your prey one by one. Endgames where the Survivors must find a Puzzle Pillar is great depending on the final Puzzle Pillar, as if the final Puzzle Pillar can be found within an open area, you can simply hold off that entire and catch any Survivors attempting to be bold.
As stated before, the Monster's biggest weakness is the low surfaces seen across the entire map. Ventilations within the Basement, Scaffolding within the hallways and the Theater, and small tunnels leading to these open areas can all make chases annoying to deal with, especially when Survivors can quickly come across Crash Doors seen nearly everywhere around the map. It's really a balance between favorful and annoying, especially for less movement-based Monsters.
