This part of the rules lists the Poppy Playtime Wiki's editing rules for anyone who is willing to edit on our pages. These rules only apply to if you are an editor for the wiki, and you are willing to edit onto our pages. It is your responsibility to read and abide by the rules otherwise you'll be blocked if you broke any rules. We advise you to have some knowledge of editing before actually editing, as we want our pages to be high-quality with informative content.
Violating these rules will at the very least lead to a page being edited to conform our editing styles, rules, etc. Edits or new pages that are created that do not conform to a specific policy are subject to change by another user (assuming that change conforms with policy) without expectation of appeal to an admin, as is all content within the site. However, it may also lead to the page being deleted or — for the worst offenses — it may lead to the poster being declared a vandal and become banned or blocked. Treatment of users who engage in destruction of content, harassment, or misuse of content (spam) is also governed by policy.
Punishment depends on how severe the rule was broken, please note that a moderator/administrator has full permission to block you indefinitely if they aren't willing to deal, reason, etc. You're block can be extended if you are not cooperative or accepting regarding the block.
Rule | Explanation |
---|---|
Vandalism | Please do not attempt to remove sensitive topics, entire parts dedicated to the page, or the entire article. We leave open pages for people to edit. Attempting to vandalize, threatening to vandalize, or vandalizing an page will result in the page being temporarily/permanently locked, alongside a warning or even block depending on how severe the vandalism was. Attempting to make one or multiple throwaway accounts to grief pages will result in your main account being blocked alongside the remaining accounts. |
Editing Conflicts | Please do not continuously fight with other users regarding information listed on our articles. Please try to come to a friendly agreement via Message Wall, or add citations to prove your point within the page. Consistently fighting with other users regarding information listed on our articles will result in the two parties being warned. Limit this behavior on our popular pages if not locked already. |
Fanmade Concepts/False Information | We highly advise you to do your research regarding a specific topic you want to add to our articles before publishing the edit. Our wiki was created in order to inform people about Poppy Playtime and its lore, and we will not tolerate fanmade concepts, false information, or even theories regarding future chapters or characters. If you want to post these fanmade concepts, please create them within your Blogs, your Sandbox, or post them within our Community Forums. |
Sexual Content & Gory Content | Do NOT upload sexual content within our pages, your personal pages (Sandbox, About Me, etc). We do not PERMIT this type of content, especially the fact Poppy Playtime has targeted an audience of children. Alongside this, please do not upload gory content that isn't anything related to Mob Entertainment & its Developers or Poppy Playtime in general. |
Original Characters (OCs) | Please do not make a page dedicated to anyone else's or your unofficial/original characters. This wiki was created to document official information created by Mob Entertainment Poppy Playtime-related. Attempting to create any page dedicated to your original character will result in its page being deleted, and possibly being moved to our Fanon Wiki by our administrators. The Fanon Wiki was created for original characters. |
Editing Experience | We recommend majority of our editors to have knowledge on editing. We want our pages to be the highest of quality it can be, and although many of our pages are unlocked, we recommend having knowledge of editing before editing. Examples of the "knowledge" we keep referring too is simple MediaWiki, preferably using Source Mode at times for specific tasks, etc. |
External Links | Any other links that don't link to our pages, Mob Entertainment/Developer socials, or a citation for a fact shown/sent by a confirmed developer are not permitted to be listed on any of our pages, as it can be completely false or have nothing to do with the information listed on the article. |
Controversy Listing on Developer articles | We highly discourage you to list controversies that developers at Mob Entertainment have been in, as the developers articles are mean't to be used as a informative board to show what parts of Poppy Playtime the developers have contributed, alongside to credit the people for their hard work. |
Useless Trivia facts | Please do not add useless fact seen within the trivia part of our pages. The only exception to this is if there is a citation to back up this claim. Useless facts like "Mommy Long Legs had a different model seen within the Chapter 2 Trailer" are not permitted unless it goes into depth on what was changed. |
Alternate languages seen within articles | Please do not write information on our articles in a language besides English. You can create a fanmade wiki for those specific language groups, although please do not write information on our articles in a language besides English. Currently, fans of this wiki have created a Poppy Playtime Spanish Wiki alongside a Poppy Playtime Russian Wiki. |
Use of Zalgo fonts or other "corrupted" texts | We do not permit any other font besides the font we use on our wiki (Arial). Using any other font on our articles will result in punishment, as we want the font to stay consistent across articles. |
Misuse of our Templates | Our templates are meant to be used to inform users about other pages, content that may be disturbing/fanmade/locked/misinterpreted/work in progress should be used in the right pages. Pages that have our templates that shouldn't really be there shall be deleted. |
Character name Abbreviations | Please do not refer to characters (Specifically Mascots) with short abbreviations like "MLL" for Mommy Long Legs. Just refer the character as their first name or simply "Mommy" throughout the page. |
