Our founder, Elliot Ludwig, was a visionary. He set the stage for all of Playtime Co.'s greatest feats. Yet of all the amazing things that he created, the Make-a-Friend Machine is one of the most creative, impressive, and advanced. It is solely responsible for nearly every Playtime Co. toy sold on the market to this day. All it needs is to be fed the proper parts, and it will then paint, assemble, and do a quality inspection of the toy all on it's own. Gone is the need for complex sorting or back-breaking labor. This machine can do all that- and more!
Make-A-Friend Description, 1960



The Make-A-Friend area is a location seen in Poppy Playtime, and made its debut in Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze. This area is a major room, as this room includes multiple puzzles alongside being the room prior to the familiar vent chase.

Accessing

To access the Make-A-Friend room, you must first unlock the vent leading to the Make-A-Friend room, which the vent can be seen within the Warehouse. After opening the ventilation system, you must finish one last puzzle using both GrabPack hands.

Appearance

The Make-A-Friend Machines are old mechanisms that was used by Playtime Co. to create the toys seen in-game, possibly including Huggy Wuggy etc. This machine was used for kids and adopted orphans to leave with a toy, for remembrance of the facility and to create a way for visitors to support and increase trust for the factory. However, it's still working and does its job perfectly fine. There are three Make-A-Friend machines in the room before the Vent Chase Sequence.

On top of said room, a series of catwalks can be seen. These catwalks lead to a power source that connects to the areas power. During our stay here, we must turn on said power.

Objectives

Catwalks

In order to obtain the Cat-Bee Item and exit the Make-A-Friend room, you must first turn on the power. When clicking the "Power On" button within the middle of the room, the power ends up shortening. To fix the power, you must navigate yourself upwards towards the catwalks of the Make-A-Friend room. This area can be accessed through the staircase near the two stacked boxes. Once climbing the staircase, a power source alongside a series of slideable pathways can be seen. You must successfully navigate through this puzzle, and after doing so, you will be able to activate the Make-A-Friend machines.

Activation

After activating the machinery, you must click the button again. This results in all the mechanisms being functional. Simply pull the levers on each toy-filled tube and watch as your Cat-Bee toy is created. Once waiting a long while for the Cat-Bee, simply scan the item on the scanner next to the "Nobody leaves without a Toy" door.

  • Make-A-Friend may be a reference to Build-A-Bear.
  • The middle machine’s eyes will follow the player upon being activated. This does not apply to the other machines.
