Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze

The unnamed protagonist, presumably a previous or laid off employee for the renowned toy-production company Playtime Co., receives an unusual letter along with a VHS Tape featuring a tampered version of the Vintage Poppy Commercial. Despite the unusual and almost child-like misspelled letter's assurance seen on the written title, the employees are believed to be "still at the factory, and they're not missing" as stated. The protagonist is instructed to reach the Poppy Flower, where Poppy is eventually revealed.

Upon arriving at the abandoned factory, the protagonist makes an attempt and is successful with opening the main corridor to the Main Lobby. Prior to entering the Main Lobby, and with the help of Blue VHS Tape, the player can obtain the revolutionary GrabPack before discovering the red hand is missing. Venturing into the lobby, they make an attempt to enter a room before the power cuts out. Although it appears to be a cutscene, Huggy Wuggy is shown holding a key to the Power Room when trying to enter it, which was not present earlier. This unlocks the Power Room, and the electricity of the factory is successfully restored, however Huggy Wuggy vanishes, leading the protagonist to investigate. As they make their way towards the Warehouse, they find the Yellow VHS Tape and all the necessary batteries but spot Huggy Wuggy peering at them through a vent. Upon making eye contact with Huggy for some time, the vents close as Huggy Wuggy pulls himself back.

After successfully connecting the batteries, the protagonist obtains the red hand and unlocks a vent door, leading to a short puzzle that advances them further into the factory. Upon reaching the Make-A-Friend area, the protagonist activates the Make-A-Friend machines, ultimately receiving a Cat-Bee toy that must be used as a keycard to open the the "Nobody Leaves Without a Toy" gate. However, as they approach the shadowy hallway, Huggy Wuggy suddenly appears and makes an attempt to catch the player, forcing the protagonist to flee through the vents. While crawling through the maze-like ventilation system, the player is chased by Huggy Wuggy, and must navigate a series of obstacles before reaching a set of catwalks. As Huggy attempts to break down the vent door the player had exited earlier, the protagonist topples a box onto Huggy, causing him to fall down the catwalks, severely injuring him and leaving his fate unknown.

Upon reaching the Poppy Flower, the player is greeted with a child's bedroom-themed setting. After making their way through a lengthy corridor, they encounter a locked case containing a Poppy Playtime doll. Upon unlocking the case, the protagonist hears Poppy's voice acknowledging her release, marking the conclusion of the chapter.

Following the intense events of Chapter 1, Poppy Playtime flees from her case, prompting The Player to give chase. However, before encountering Poppy, The Player must traverse through a labyrinth of rooms, with the ultimate goal of reaching Elliot Ludwig's Office. To gain entry, The Player must locate a key. Upon entering the room, the player must reach Poppy through a loose ventilation vent, which then leads them to an enclosed room. As soon as The Player attempts to solve the given puzzle, Poppy suddenly crashes through a box, startling The Player. She offers her apologies and proceeds to explain The Player's dire situation. Poppy, determined to help, takes it upon herself to lead The Player out of the hazardous Game Station, located deep within the facility.

Despite safely navigating through the labyrinth with Poppy's help, their plans for escape are abruptly halted when Mommy Long Legs makes a sudden appearance. With shocking speed, she assaults Poppy and drags her away, leaving The Player to face the challenge alone. Determined to rescue their ally, The Player must now enter the treacherous Game Station and face off against Mommy Long Legs. Upon entering the station, The Player is immediately confronted Mommy as she snatches the players Red GrabPack hand and later reveals Poppy captive in her grasp. The illeism spider claims that the only way to escape is by playing three increasingly difficult games after years of inactivity. However, Mommy Long Legs warns that failure would result in her devouring The Player alive.

Prior to engaging in the protagonist's first game, which is Musical Memory, players are directed to make a pit-stop at the Molding Room to design yet another innovative addition to their GrabPack, the Green GrabPack hand. This exceptional feature permits players to preserve energy within their hands for a prolonged period until it gradually fades away. Operating with two hands, they can then commence the Musical Memory game. During this challenge, players are required to select the correct buttons in a sequence that gradually accelerates. The level of difficulty increases until a multitude of unnecessary colors and symbols appear, all with the intention of derailing the player's progress. All while this goes on, Bunzo Bunny is slowly falling towards the player, slowly lifting back up with every correct pattern. With the excessive number of buttons, the emergency stop becomes imperative. As the game comes to a halt, Mommy appears to be disappointed while vaguely teasing the second challenge. Hoping to reach the Game Station via a shortcut, the protagonist ventures into the Rejected Room, maneuvering through the vents. During this journey, the sound of Mommy killing Bunzo Bunny can be heard. Upon arriving in the Rejected Room, the player is tasked with relocating the Bron mascot from a lifting pad that is hindering their progress. Once the mascot is moved, they can swiftly make their way back to the Game Station through a narrow passageway and staircase, emerging unharmed.

Mommy Long Legs' observing the player play through each challenge.

The second game, Wack-a-Wuggy, is accessed through a lengthy hallway, and the game itself is situated in an area featuring a mural depicting a construction site and a sandy floor. The objective of the game is to use the GrabPack to hit all the Mini Huggies and complete the round. This game assesses the player's reaction time, and as the round progresses, additional Mini Huggies emerge, increasing the difficulty level. Completing this game takes under a minute, and as promised, upon winning, Mommy becomes more aggressive and gives the player the second Train puzzle piece. To continue their journey, the player must navigate through a compact storage room while the sound of Mommy killing Mini Huggies resonates in the background.

Pulling the protagonist up a rundown staircase leads them into the Cart Corridors, a labyrinthine transportation system where an immobile minecart, Barry, awaits. The entrance is initially locked, and as the player approaches it, the shadow of Huggy Wuggy looms before gradually approaching the player. As the silhouette appears through the vintage yellow light manner, the silhouette is revealed to be Huggy's feminine counterpart Kissy Missy. In an effort to assist the player, she pulls a lever before fading back into the shadows. With Kissy's help, the player unlocks the entrance to the Cart Corridors. They then proceed with pushing Barry down a steep ramp to crash through a series of wooden barriers blocking the exit. Once the exit is cleared, the player can return to the Game Station for the second time.

In the third game, called Statues, The Player must navigate a maze while being pursued by PJ Pug-a-Pillar. They can only move when the lights go off and freeze when the lights turn on, mimicking the classic game of "Red Light, Green Light." Having successfully completed the grueling third game despite its rigged nature, The Player's victory infuriates Mommy Long Legs. Mommy becomes increasingly agitated as the player refuses to fall for her manipulation. The player decides to proceed towards the Game Station via the Water Treatment, but as they ascend a flight of stairs, Mommy blocks their path. The player attempts to bypass her by climbing into a ventilation system, but Mommy catches up with them before they can get away. In an agitated, selfish tone, she accuses the player of cheating and declaring that she will play "one last game" called "hide-and-seek." The Player must now survive Mommy's pursuit, eventually luring her into a grinder and activating the lever, ensuring her demise. Suddenly, a mysterious claw-like hand emerges from beneath the partially closed door and drags Mommy's severed torso into the darkness. Simultaneously, another door on the right side of the room opens, granting The Player access back into the Game Station. Navigating through Bay 09, The Player discovers Poppy trapped and proceeds to free her. With Poppy safely onboard, The Player skillfully inputs the correct Train Code, causing the train to start moving.

The Train spiraling out of control.

However, Poppy, in awe of The Player's exceptional agility and intelligence, has a sudden change of heart at the last moment. She alters the train's direction, asserting that The Player is "too perfect to lose." Poppy reveals that she has had time to ponder and reflect and believes that together, they can "set things right." Before she can finish her statement, the audio cuts off, leaving only garbled static. Poppy manages to utter a perplexed "what-?" before the sound completely disappears. The train accelerates alarmingly, leaving The Player with no option but to attempt an emergency stop. Unfortunately, their efforts prove futile as the train ultimately derails and crashes, plunging The Player into darkness. However, before losing consciousness, they catch a glimpse of a sign for the Playcare, hinting at what lies ahead for them. The chapter comes to an end, leaving The Player's fate uncertain.

Chapter 3: Deep Sleep

As the player wakes up from the train crash, they find themselves in the ruins of Playcare. The air is filled with a toxic gas that the player discovers they can only survive by using the Gas Mask that was teased in the Capsule art for Chapter 3. As the player exerts effort to avoid Experiment 1188, they come close to realizing that it is the source of the toxic gas.

Project: Playtime

ProjectPlaytimeBanner.jpg

Following the closure of the factory on August 8th, 1995, Playtime Co. enlists the help of Resource Extraction Specialists to retrieve toy parts scattered throughout its former attractions and construct a relic from the past. However, the company's experiments have resulted in the emergence of hostile monsters within the facility, making the retrieval process a perilous task. The player is responsible for assembling the relic – comprised of six parts dispersed amongst the Puzzle Pillars – by solving three randomized puzzles successfully. Once all six parts have been obtained, the players must activate the assembly line chute to transport the toy onto the train. Along the way, the specialists must evade the Bigger Bodies Experiments that are tracking them down. Finally, the team must board the train to complete the mission.

Hidden within the Screening Room of Project: Playtime are VHS tapes that shed light on the Biggers Bodies Initiative and the chain of events that led to the creation of the menacing monsters that the specialists must steer clear of. The first two tapes provide a glimpse into the inception of the Biggers Bodies Initiative and the introduction of its first experiment, Boxy Boo. Boxy Boo was fabricated to eliminate any employee who ventured too close to the company's experiments, setting the tone for what was to come.
