Bunzo Bunny

Bunzo Bunny is a toy produced by Playtime Co. who debuted in Chapter 2: Fly in a Web. He resided in the Musical Memory minigame as its main antagonist. Toy versions of Bunzo were later seen being produced near the Water Treatment facility.

Appearance

Bunzo Bunny is an anthropomorphic yellow rabbit with black eyes, two large buck teeth, and long ears. He frequently appears with a wide grin. He also wears a green party hat similar to those seen on clowns and matching overalls with suspenders and buttons of the same colour. Bunzo typically holds two golden cymbals. His cheeks are orange, similar to the inside of his ears; he has small tufts of fur around his chest and on top of his head.

In his hostile form, he retains largely the same appearance. However, one notable difference is that he now has a row of jagged fangs lining his mouth, which is also split further and widely open.

Personality

Bunzo Bunny is often seen as being very cheerful and playful, always wishing people happy birthdays. His murals and cut-outs show that Bunzo also likes to joke around, making wacky poses with his facial expressions. He seems to enjoy celebrating others' birthdays when he can get the chance, as evidenced by the audio clips shown alongside his cardboard cut-outs.

The Bigger Bodies version of Bunzo, however, takes on a darker and more twisted personality, showing his excitement and ravenous behaviour through his cymbals, crashing them faster and louder the closer he gets to The Player. He seemingly delights in eating The Player if they fail the game, screaming and crashing his cymbals with a deafening din before doing so.

Mechanics

Chapter 2: Fly in a Web

Bunzo Bunny's jumpscare

Bunzo acts as the main mascot and antagonist for Musical Memory, in which he will lower herself towards The Player as they play the game. If The Player gets continuous errors in the game's pattern sequence or fails to play the game quickly within the timing of Bunzo's descent, he will reach The Player, jump scaring and killing them, resetting the game.

Once The Player succeeds in the game, Bunzo will stop descending and crashing his cymbals and stay in his current position.

A closer view of Bunzo's corpse.

A few minutes after The Player leaves the game area, faint thrashing noises as well as crashing from Bunzo's cymbals can be heard. This tells us that Mommy Long Legs murdered Bunzo for failing to kill The Player. If The Player returns to the Game Station after leaving Musical Memory, Bunzo's corpse can be spotted on the ceiling, hanging motionless and trapped by Mommy's webs. The cable attached to Bunzo's back that was used for his ascent and descent in Musical Memory is nowhere to be seen.

Easter Comic

The Bunzo Bunny Easter comic was a series of illustrated comic panels showcasing Bunzo Bunny as he tries to find the secret eggs hidden around the Playtime Co. Factory. The comic was entirely posted on Mob Entertainment's Twitter account, with the community voting on what would happen overtime. The first poll was posted on April 4th, 2023. Bunzo Bunny was depicted going on an egg hunt with his friend Bucky to find the "Secret eggs". The community is given a choice about whether they should talk to Bron, Boxy, or PJ Pug-a-Pillar.

After the community votes for Bunzo to talk to Bron[1], Bron instructs Bunzo that a secret egg is hidden on the Game Station catwalks. Later that day, Bunzo smells an egg coming from under the closed door. The Prototype pulled Mommy Long Legs' dead body from Chapter 2: "Fly in a Web". The community was given a choice: listen to Bron or investigate the smell.

After the community voted for Bunzo to investigate the smell[2], Bunzo crawls under the door and comes across the secret egg on a ledge out of reach. The community is given a choice whether to use a stack of boxes, a GrabPack, or Bucky to reach the egg.

After the community voted for Bunzo to use the GrabPack conveniently lying on the floor[3], Bunzo fires the GrabPack hand towards the egg and successfully grabs onto it As warned in Grab Pack Training, the GrabPack should only hit small handles/objects. Bunzo decides to look at the egg to reveal a baby bird that has not yet grown in it. Bunzo quickly rushes to somehow fix his mistake; however, he falls deep into the factory. Bunzo gets heavily injured, is unable to stand, and is barely able to talk. The. community is given a choice: call for help, wait, or give up.

After the community voted for Bunzo to call for help, Bunzo, with all his might, yelled for help to no response. Unable to do anything due to his injured state, he waits an hour, 12 hours, 1 day, 3 days, 8 days, and 15 days with no response. Bunzo finally dies while documenting how many days he's on, attempting to write what appears to be 30 days. Bunzo's story ends with a new tweet showcasing a render of Bunzo's dead body rotting away. Weirdly, his upper forehead appears to have been bitten out, and he is

missing both of her eyes and front teeth. Since there are long scratch marks on the wall near the corpse, it's possible that The Prototype took the eyes and teeth.

Trivia

  • Bunzo Bunny originally was planned to have blue overalls in his appearance, although Andy Gill states that this was scrapped because Bunzo looked too much like a Minion.
  • Editors Note: This information was told in a Discord voice chat, so there isn't a citation currently. We are working on trying to obtain/find one.
  • In the Chapter 2 Official Trailer, Daisy was used as the Musical Memory antagonist instead of Bunzo.
  • This was changed in the current version of the game. This could mean that Daisy was just a BETA tested character, or simply a placeholder for other characters to take its place.
  • Bunzo is most likely based on a Jolly Chimp in terms of function.
  • Bunzo 'knowing' the date of 'your' birthday (June 28th) is a direct reference to Markiplier's birthday, a popular and widely known YouTuber who also plays Poppy Playtime.
  • Upon digging into the game's assets, an audio file titled "mommy_kills_bunzo.uasset" can be found in the game's programming. This audio file is played shortly after The Player leaves the Musical Memory game area, hence confirming Bunzo is indeed killed by Mommy Long Legs. This is further confirmed by Bunzo's corpse on the roof of the Game Station mentioned above.
  • Bunzo's jumpscare sound closely resembles a monkey's scream when it is enraged.
