Puzzle Pillars
Puzzle Pillars are one of the few features seen within Project: Playtime. The Puzzle Pillars are the main source to obtaining Toy Parts by solving three different challenges on each pillar. Completing six of the pillars and obtaining all six Toy Parts will result in the ability to escape via the Train.
Appearance
The Puzzle Pillars are pillars consisting of three randomly chosen different puzzles seen in a triangular prism fashion. Each puzzle has different functions and will glow green once completed. There are nine pillars seen around the Theater or Playtime Factory. Six of them must be completed in order to gather the toy part.
Puzzles
Piano Puzzle
The Piano Puzzle is one of the three puzzles that are required to obtain the Toy Parts. The Piano puzzle can be completed by using your GrabPack to replicate a series of notes that play on the piano. As the puzzle goes, more piano notes will be added alongside the previous notes to create a series of tunes and a puzzle. Once going through all the notes, the puzzle will be complete. To shorten the length of the Piano Puzzle, you can use the Master Pianist perk.
Reflex Puzzle
The Reflex Puzzle is one of the three puzzles that are required to obtain the Toy Parts. The Reflex puzzle can be completed by using your GrabPack to click one of many sockets that glow. These sockets will only glow for 1-2 seconds, and with your reflexes, you must hit them without failing. The puzzle still picks up even after failing or letting go of the button. After many sockets glow, the puzzle will be complete. To keep the sockets glowing for a maximum of one second, you can use the ThinkFast perk.
Memory Puzzle
The Memory Puzzle is one of the three puzzles that are required to obtain the Toy Parts. The Memory puzzle can be completed by using your GrabPack to click a series of buttons on a large grid. After multiple random generated codes flash, a final code will flash three different times. The code will later disappear and you must memorize the puzzle before it disappears. After doing this twice, the puzzle will be completed. The code can appear for a longer amount of time if you have the Genius perk.
Maze Puzzle
The Maze Puzzle is one of the three puzzles that are required to obtain the Toy Parts. The Maze puzzle can be completed by using your GrabPack to press buttons that rotate a circular maze left or right. Inside the maze, there is a small yellow ball, so it's up to you to navigate the maze to finish the puzzles. There are two mazes on one pillar, and the set of mazes only has to be completed once.
Claw Puzzle
The Claw Puzzle is one of the three puzzles that are required to obtain the Toy Parts. Once started, three toys will be shown through the glass window which are chosen randomly from Boogie Bot, Boxy Boo, Bunzo Bunny, Huggy Wuggy, and a star. On a screen next to them, it will select one of the toys. Your hand will move back and forth and you have to press the 'drop' button right above the selected toy. If you time it above the correct toy, your hand will grab the toy and automatically drop it in the deposit bin. If you grab the wrong toy, it'll drop in the deposit bin, but will result in a failure, and the wrong toy will be placed back in its slot. It is possible to miss a toy, in which case the failure message does not display. If you successfully complete the puzzle three times, the puzzle will be completed. Each time, the hand will move faster, making it harder to grab the right toy.
Collage Puzzle
The Collage Puzzle is one of the three puzzles that are required to obtain the Toy Parts. The Collage puzzle can be completed by using your GrabPack to press the drawing squares. When started, three random drawings will be shown quickly: Kissy Missy, Bunzo Bunny and PJ Pug-a-Pillar drawings. Then the whole drawing will get shuffled. You must recreate the drawing pressing the squares that compose it. If you press a square when it's in the correct position, the drawing will shuffle again, resulting in failure. After recreating the drawing correctly, the puzzle will be completed.
Results
After doing all three puzzles successfully, the Toy Part will drop from below. Simply take this part to the Toy Deposit to successfully mark a part off the Survivor's tasks. Simply repeat this five more times. More than six Puzzle Pillars may be completed, however, once six toy parts have been dropped in the chutes, all pillars will be disabled, even if a player is in the middle of using it.
Countering
The monster can see puzzle pillars through walls, and they will glow on the screen when he is close to facing them. However, he will not be able to see if the pillar has had all of its puzzles completed or not from there.
If a player fails a puzzle, the monster HUD will flare with a red diamond alerting the monster.
Several Sabotages affect the Puzzle Pillars. The Shutdown sabotage will prevent the player from using the pillars until restarted at a breaker. The Boobytrap will harm the player and alert the monster if they try to use any puzzle.
