Mommy Long Legs

Mommy is best described as a spider-like psychotic murderer who kills for fun.

This monster finds and kills her prey before she's even seen. She can climb onto walls and ceilings to stalk the hunted, then when the moment is right- she strikes!

Mommy has several tactical advantages, such as her spider webs which can slow down her prey. Additionally, she also has the ability to see through walls for a short period, allowing her to locate every survivor quickly and quietly.

Mommy was created in 1991 as a way to make use of Playtime Co.'s new elastic plastic. Eventually, she was transferred to The Game Station with the children, where she was so popular that Playtime Co. actually created a toy out of her and took it to market!

ASSESSMENT: Don't stand still.

Mommy Long Legs' Assessment description in Project: Playtime

Mommy Long Legs is a returning character from Poppy Playtime, being one of the three selectable monsters for Project: Playtime. She is described as a spider-like psychotic monster who kills for fun, and she currently has three abilities to her disposal.

Appearance

Her appearance remains the same as in the main game. She has baby pink skin with pink rubbery balloon-like hair that's styled and tied in a baby blue hair tie. She has thin, but flexible limbs, alongside a stretchable neck. She has pink gloves on her hands and pink shoes and blue long-sleeve socks on her feet. Her eyes are green with three eyelashes on each one. One difference is now she is wearing a baby blue bead necklace instead of just a circle around her neck.

Gameplay

Out of all three monsters, Mommy Long Legs has the most abilities, with three abilities at your disposal alongside a selectable sabotage. She can shoot spider webs, which can slow down her opponents. She can also climb walls and hang onto ceilings, allowing her to take control of areas, waiting for any prey. Finally, she can use her final ability, Spotter Lens, to see any Survivor on the map.

Abilities

Mobility Ability

MommyArmIcon.png
Grapple
Description Mommy Long Legs grabs onto the ledge she had faced, gripping onto the ledge and using her elastic plastic to pull herself towards that area. Can hang onto that area or jump off.
Cooldown 0 seconds
Strategies
  • You should utilize this ability for both movement and stealth. Both are viable, as you can use both in most situations.
    • You can use this ability as a movement ability to get to places easier, go to failed Puzzle Pillars, or chase Players.
    • You can use this ability as a stealth move by using it to secretly guard Survivor Deposits to catch any unsuspecting players attempting to revive other survivors.
  • It is best to only use this ability to hang off walls on large ceiling, excluding invisible barriers or borders.
    • Hanging off invisible ceilings will result in Mommy Long Legs sticking out more.

Tracking Ability

SpotterLens.png
Spotter Lens
Description After using the move, your vision will go gray as any players on the map will be highlighted with yellow for roughly 3 seconds only.
Cooldown TBA seconds
Strategies
  • Spotter Lens should only be used during situations where you cannot find any Survivors, these times can be seen especially during end-game or during slow games.
    • This move is a precious move considering the power it holds, so conserving it is recommended.
  • Survivors hiding in Port-A-Lounges cannot be seen with Spotter Lens, so it isn't recommended to use this move to find a hiding survivor.
  • Using this ability after all survivors have obtained the Toy Parts is not recommended, as Survivors are required to either call the train or come to the train in order to escape.

Tactical Ability

Webs.png
Spider Webs (Revamped for an eventual return)
Description Mommy Long Legs shoots a ball of spider web in front of her, preventing players from sprinting nor jumping.
Cooldown N/A
Strategies
  • It is best to use this move while chasing a Survivor, as landing these webs give you an upper-hand while attempting to down said survivor.
  • Using this ability far away or around corners is not recommended, as using the ability far away leads to less likely successful landings and around corners can result in missing by a survivor simply going around the corner.
  • Try not to shoot an actively-moving survivor, as it'll lead to you missing multiple times.

Trivia

  • On the Developer Q&A podcast viewed on the Mob Entertainment YouTube Channel, the developer Addison revealed that Mommy Long Legs was considered one of the hardest Monsters to develop within Project: Playtime.[1]
