Theodore "Theo" Grambell was an orphan test subject that would be turned into CatNap. His name was first mentioned in the Transcript Submission document in the Chapter 3 Interactable ARG. He will presumably make his debut in Chapter 3: Deep Sleep.

Appearance

As seen in his drawing, Theodore has short, curly hair. (The rest of his appearance is currently unknown.)

Personality

According to documents found in the Chapter 3 Interactable ARG, Theodore was a troubled orphan who attracted his counselors' concern. Since Joel Sinclair initially assumed that Theo's friend wasn't real, it's implied that he did not have any other friends at Home Sweet Home. Based on his interactions with counselors and subsequent events, Theo is a master at stealth and covering his tracks, being able to steal a GrabPack, escape HSH at night without getting caught by Security, and break into Joel's office during his lunchtime.

Story

When Playtime Co. was still active, Theodore Grambell gained notoriety among the staff for his connection to an imaginary friend who seemed to encourage him to sabotage Playtime Co. In the Chapter 3 Interactable ARG, Theodore's drawing depicted him in purple, sitting on his bed while a skeletal arm emerged from underneath. This drawing strongly suggested that Theodore's "imaginary" companion was Experiment 1006, The Prototype.

One day, Theodore received instructions from 1006 to open a maintenance door in Playcare using a stolen GrabPack and a Green GrabPack Hand. Following The Prototype's guidance, Theodore attempted to open the door, potentially with 1006's intentions of allowing the orphans to escape. However, due to his young age and lack of understanding on how to operate the GrabPack, Theodore ended up getting electrocuted by the Green GrabPack Hand and needed immediate medical attention. Joel Sinclair and Thomas Clarke, upon hearing about the incident, concluded in a phone conversation that Theodore's imaginary friend was responsible. They specifically mentioned that the maintenance door required two people to operate. Thomas himself claimed to have seen Theodore's imaginary friend.

Despite Theodore's injury, the actions prompted by his imaginary friend continued, leading to the creation of CatNap. Like Boxy Boo, CatNap was created with a specialized goal in mind: to put the children at Home Sweet Home to sleep and prevent any orphans from escaping Playcare. Several candidates were considered to control CatNap, but Theodore Grambell ended up being chosen and became the guardian for Playcare.

Trivia

  • Theodore is confirmed to be 7 years old in the ARG.
  • It's later confirmed that Theodore's "friend" is The Prototype, which is proven by the drawing he made in the Chapter 3 Interactable ARG.
    • It is also greatly implied that the Prototype actually saved Theodore and left him in the care of the faculty members.
