The Hour of Joy was a major event that occurred at the Playtime Co. factory on August 8th, 1995. This tragic incident, sparked by the Bigger Bodies Initiative, set in motion the events of Project: Playtime and Poppy Playtime.

History

On August 8th, 1995, at 10:45 a.m., Kissy Missy was being relocated to Playcare via train when an unknown entity, presumably The Prototype or CatNap, cut her straps and killed the employees on the train when she refused to do it herself. 15 minutes later, at exactly 11:00 a.m., The Prototype and his allies started a massive rebellion against their oppressors. Though an emergency alert system was sent out to warn the work force, nearly all of Playtime Co.'s scientists and employees were slaughtered, their screams heard in the background of two separate tapes. One scientist lost his life creating an audio log for future scientists, which explained The Prototype's abilities and disregarded absence, and that future experiments must be contained and disposed of in a secure location.

The remaining survivors, including Leith Pierre, were forced to flee the factory, ultimately closing Playtime Co. The toys later referred to this rebellion as "The Hour of Joy", with CatNap, 1006's fervently devoted follower, worshiping The Prototype as a god and even starting a primitive religion, with 1006 at its center.
